HICAP Performance reports use data reported from each individual Planning and Service Area (PSA) HICAP provider, collected directly from the Statewide HICAP Automated Reporting Program (SHARP).
The California Department of Aging reports this data directly to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS determines performance award grant funding based on this data.
The number of contacts reported (counseling sessions made in person, telephone, and E-mail) has increased over the past four years.
