Data Summary for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2011-12 Annual Reporting

The following information is data collected from the local Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). This data is representative of all 58 counties served by the 33 Planning and Services Areas (PSA) throughout California.

In State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2011-12, local HICAPs exceeded the minimum attainments established by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Local HICAPs saw a total of 101,084 Clients Served with 55,684 resulting in Intakes and over 266,094 Contacts made!

This includes over 77,440 hours spent counseling by the volunteer Counselors and saved California Medicare Beneficiaries over $19,683,000.
