Bonnie Ronk

Adult Day Health Care

Playing dominoes is great fun, says Bonnie Ronk. Same with Uno and Yahtzee, and singing to live guitar music. And playing indoor volleyball with a huge balloon is a hoot, says Bonnie, whose 81st birthday was heartily celebrated with her favorite dessert — cheesecake — surrounded by friends at Choice in Aging’s Adult Day Health Care program.

What really melted her heart, Bonnie says, was the time she befriended a little boy during an intergenerational activity joining older adults with children attending a preschool on the same Pleasant Hill campus.

"He hugged me," Bonnie recalls with a warm smile. "I have a picture of him that he gave me, and I love it. That makes me feel wonderful."

Adult Day Health Care is among many services dedicated to enhancing the lives of older Californians.
