Through the Older Americans Act, the Older Californians Nutrition Program (OCNP), also known as the Senior Nutrition Program or Elderly Nutrition Program, has been dedicated to meeting the nutritional, wellness, and social needs of older adults since 1972. The mission of the OCNP is to:

  • Reduce hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition
  • Promote socialization of older adults
  • Promote health and well-being and delay the onset of adverse health conditions

CDA administers the OCNP through the 33 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) and their service providers. The program provides nutritious meals and services, including nutrition screening and nutrition education, to help older adults remain independent and in their communities. The OCNP includes:

  • Congregate Meals Program
  • Home-Delivered Meals Program
