    The California Department of Aging does not provide direct services. CDA contracts with and oversees the local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) that coordinate a wide array of services to seniors and adults with disabilities.

    This toll-free statewide telephone number links older Californians and their caregivers to information and assistance in their own area. Calls are automatically routed to the appropriate AAA.

    Long-Term Care Ombudsman CRISISline

    Call 1-800-231-4024

    This CRISISline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to receive complaints from residents residing in long-term care facilities.

    Medicare Questions

    Call 1-800-434-0222

    Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) serves current Medicare beneficiaries and those planning for future health and long-term care needs. HICAP counseling is confidential and free of charge. Calls are automatically routed to the appropriate HICAP.
