What Services Are Available

Nutrition Sites

Nutrition sites serve healthy meals in a group setting with an opportunity to socialize with others. These sites may also provide nutrition education, nutrition risk screening, and nutrition counseling. Participant contributions are welcome, but not required.

Home-Delivered Meals

The Home-Delivered Meals Program provides nutritious meals, nutrition education, nutrition risk screening and nutrition counseling. Participant contributions are welcome, but not required.

Who Can Get These Services

Nutrition Sites

  • Persons 60 years of age or older regardless of income level
  • Spouses accompanying eligible participants
  • Persons with a disability who live with an eligible participant
  • Volunteers who provide services during meal hours

Home-Delivered Meals

  • Persons 60 years of age or older who are homebound because of illness, incapacity, disability, or are otherwise isolated regardless of income level
  • Spouses and caregivers of eligible participants if it is beneficial to the participant
  • Persons with a disability who live at home with a participant

How To Find Services In My Area

The California Department of Aging contracts with and oversees the local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) that coordinate a variety of services for older adults, adults with disabilities, informal caregivers, and family caregivers.
